Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to mayaspottery.com and describes how we collect, use, store and share personal data you provide when you browse, book a session, or purchase a product from Maya’s Pottery in Bengaluru, India. Your use of the website and provision of personal data implies acceptance of this policy. This policy is effective as of August 3, 2025 and is published in compliance with India’s Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“SPDI Rules”), which require businesses that handle personal or sensitive personal data to present a clear and readily accessible privacy statement.

We collect only the personal information necessary to provide our services—this includes your name, email address, phone number, billing or shipping address (if ordering pottery), and any health or allergy notes (for sessions involving children), along with optional details such as age or guardian contact for minor participants. We also collect non‑sensitive technical data like your IP address or browser type to help improve site performance. We do not collect financial credentials, biometric data, medical histories, or other forms of sensitive personal data unless you willingly share them (e.g. health notes), and only with your explicit consent as defined under Indian law.

All data is collected with your clear and affirmative consent. Where sensitive personal data is involved, consent is obtained in writing or via electronic confirmation prior to collection, and the purpose and intended recipients of the data are disclosed to you—as required by SPDI Rules. In line with the principles of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (pending full implementation), we use personal data only for lawful and specific purposes: confirming bookings, addressing dietary or health needs, processing orders, sending service reminders or receipts, and responding to your questions. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill these purposes or to comply with legal obligations.

Your information may be shared with trusted third-party service providers that assist us with tasks such as payment processing, email or text communication, or delivery logistics—but only when necessary for the services you’ve requested. Sensitive information is not disclosed to third parties unless you’ve specifically agreed or in cases where we are legally obliged to comply (for example, in response to a valid request from a government agency). If any personal data is transferred outside India (e.g. via overseas cloud services), it will only be entrusted to entities that maintain data protection standards comparable to those required in India.

Under applicable laws you have the right to access your data, correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information, withdraw consent, or request erasure of information that is no longer needed. You may also appoint someone to submit such requests on your behalf.

We follow reasonable security practices and procedures as mandated under SPDI Rules and Indian law, including installing logger and access controls, encryption, secure backups, restricted staff access controls, and regular security audits. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you promptly and comply with applicable legal reporting requirements .
